Good afternoon (almost can call "early evening" here at home)...

Did everyone survive Thanksgiving Day? Are you lucky enough to have left over turkey? Were any of you Black Friday shopping?

Every year, it'll be a standing tradition, I babysit my grandson on Thanksgiving evening so DD and SIL can hit the sales. Last night went well - Jonah was thrilled to have a bunkmate in his room and actually went to bed (both of them) very smoothly.

We hosted a brunch for the family before the little one was taken home by DD and SIL. Jonah, who had just about 20 minutes before began showing signs of ware having a younger kid in the house, cried himself to sleep not too long after they left. I wish I had taken a nap - Jonah was in my bed, as was Franklin, who has to work night shift tomorrow and needs to catch up on his sleep.

About the time I gave myself permission to reshape my Cyber Monday shopping lists, Jonah was awake - and not too long after this, we found our cat decided to use the bathroom outside her littler box (Jonah found this out by stepping in it and hobbling through the house to tell me). SIGH

I am supposed to see the grandson again for a couple hours tomorrow. Hoping it's sunny, and I can just take him to a park instead of having to clean the house spic and span. MIL is already calling to find out when she can drop by to take Jonah out to select his Christmas present...which means, once again, that she'll be cancelling Christmas gatherings there with DH's family.

No leftover turkey for us as we were guests of my sister-in-law. I did think ahead and bought a pie. I'm almost tempted at buying a turkey and making a 2nd Thanksgiving with sides DH likes (small scale, though). His mother decided to make a stand against our dietary observances so no stuffing for DH (his favorite) and instead of a vegetable, they made macaroni (which was super sweet because I think that they had Jonah in mind - it's one of the very few food's he will eat...but Franklin is pretty near phobic about eating such things).

We had a nice visit over all. FIL is in remission, something that we were told not even to hope for (2nd time for C and this was Stage IV). It rained the entire time, and Jonah's cousin, the one he adores, ducked out to see a movie. I'm so proud at how good he behaved without his toys or someone to entertain. FIL is tired, slow, and Jonah asked him so sweetly if he would like to watch cartoons together.

I baked that big brunch - enough left over for dinner...I'm going to give myself just enough push to clean the kitchen before bedtime, but that's all on my plate today.

Peace

"Clutter" ... The word "decluttering" brings to my mind the image of boxes and bags being dumped out of a house. The house sighs with relief! Getting rid of the junk is a good first step.
