I have two different kitchen cabinets Shocked We began a kitchen reno and finished all but the over the stove area as Jonah was born...in 2011! Since then, we've both changed our mind regarding our original ideas...but we don't agree with one another = stalemate. Original cabinets above the stove are low-quality builder grade and typical white. Our gorgeous kitchen lower wooden cabinets are a beautiful pale, pale turquoise.

We both originally wanted shelving over the kitchen stove area - I still do sometimes, my husband wants a mix (ours spans the stove and the refrigerator). The biggest hang up is grease from cooking and dust if we went doorless or with shelves. At present, I'm thinking extra tall cabinets with beveled glass fronts. I do think it would be kind of odd to have doors, no doors, doors again. If you want to leave them off, though, I'd make sure the interiors match the doors. It looks so dark over your stove.

If you take your spices off, I'm wondering if you could build some sort of inserted wooden ferris wheel type contraption for spices? I've not seen them before, but the thought came to me because lazy suzan's won't cut it if you have a lot. Do you have a blank wall spot near your kitchen area that you could hang a spice rack?

As for grey and terra cotta. I think I had a red similiar to what is shown in your picture for my last kitchen. I did drama it up with two different shades of grey. One had a charcoal undertone, but light, and the other was kinda sorta grey with a tinge of green (you couldn't "see" green, but it was in there). Would your DS2 have hurt feelings to repaint? I have lots of light in my kitchen, so I played with that and am keeping everything other than my cabinets in tones of soft and light whites.

Good Morning,

I've been up and down the mountain - all the way up today. The pup has a mile of walking in and is snoring ---

It's bright sunshine and windy - the windows are rattling. Hopefully, the wind will keep the inversion blown out. I could see the haze as I was driving down the mountain. Blech.

Today is:

** re-read suggestions/ideas on my kitchen post - I will be painting the interior of the cupboard above the stove today, but will probably end up putting the doors back on that set of cupboards.

** empty dishwasher
** email company regarding table we purchased
** bring two containers down to store room
** check in w/both guys
** vacuum porch - a daily thing with dd waxing her skis
** walk pup another 3.5 miles
** go through items from the linen closet - organize and toss
** thrift store? I went yesterday and couldn't get in the parking lot
** get dd from bus stop 2pm?
** check furnace filter and air purifier filter
** nap - I want to take a nap

Have a lovely day, all.

25yos, 23yos, 13 yod I guess I am old enough for adult children.

My stomach hurts, but I still choose joy! :-)
