A friend said they are going here for Easter. I was not aware of the Unity movement before today and the mysticism sounds odd...anyone know about it?

I've never heard of it, but just that introduction on the website is enough to tell me to stay FAR away! So much heresy in just a few paragraphs!

Nothing I would want to get into. When it says they developed a metaphysical interpretation of the Bible I would be wary.

What Stacy said. So much heresy in such a few paragraphs. This is not a Christian faith.

I would start with the comment, "The founders of the Unity movement, Charles and Myrtle Fillmore, discovered a personal pathway of faith through the teachings of Jesus Christ."

and share 1 Peter 1:20-21. knowing this first of all, that no prophecy of Scripture comes from someone’s own interpretation. For no prophecy was ever produced by the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.

I would counter, "Unity beliefs are intended to support the practical application of sacred teachings into everyday lives. The Truth within all pathways of faith is honored and diversity celebrated by Unity ministers.

with "Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

and

“For God so loved the world,[fn] that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

God is not looking to give us practical application of "sacred" teachings, and there isn't Truth within all pathways.

If I were getting into a debate, there's probably a Bible verse to counter everything written on the opening page. I did not look further.

I think you did well to ask if he knows Jesus as personal Savior. Good starting place! (Debate often doesn't get you anywhere)

Blessings,
Lisa R.

Previous cooking programs have perpetuated provincial culinary prejudices that locked us into a one-dimensional approach to efficient use of modern kitchen equipment.
