My daughter is serving as a missionary half a world away and finds herself interested in a fellow missionary.

I didn't raise her to be a missionary so am not quite prepared for this. 😳😜

What should I think on first...?

I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.

Well, first, rejoice that not only is God leading your daughter but it at least appears that she wants Him to. Smile

I'm sorry, I'm probably not the best person to sympathize. I'm not sure, other than being a missionary myself, how I would have raised my kids to be missionaries, but I would be fine with it. We read them missionary stories and took them to hear missionaries home on furlough and encouraged short-term mission trips.

I realize, though, that it is not without its difficulties and worries and the sorrows of being so far from those you love. {hugs}

My daughter is also interested in someone she met while serving in Costa Rica earlier this year. He's Costa Rican. It's a bit daunting, I agree! My first thoughts were something along the lines of, "I guess I know where I will be vacationing if they get married..." and "I should really learn Spanish." Wink

Praying for this scary and exciting new chapter in both yours and your daughter's life! Smile

Laughing You are so practical!

Congratulations 99loons (sorry, I don't recall your name). Is skype available to officially meet him, yet? I'd be in prayer, if I were you, for all involved, including yourself. You can't go wrong with that as a step for both rejoicing and asking for wisdom.

Peace

I also love Michelle's practicality! That was good and would be one direction my mind would also go.

It also would say *WHAT?* * where? * * seriously *? And then Id get on board remembering that I raised them to be His...not that i molded them in some way ...but that my act of rearing children was unto Him.

Sometime I think we forget that we didnt raise them in some direction, but we raised them. We were being obedient to our call. Now they have to be obedient to theirs, or iow, they have to work out their salvation.

As joyous as it is to be a mother, it is equally as sorrowful, and is always about me growing in Christ more and more.

Rejoicing and praying for you all.

Dina ....... HE has made me glad!
