I lost the recipe I liked , that came with my waffle iron. So now I buy Krusteaz Belgian Waffle mix , but use Club Soda for the water. Club soda was the different ingredient in the recipe.

I have a regular waffle maker, not a Belgian waffle maker. I like Alton Brown's recipe. I think there's even a youtube video of him making these.

Basic Waffle
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
½ tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 Tbsp sugar
3 large eggs, beaten
4 Tbsp butter, melted
2 cups buttermilk
Weigh (4 3/4 ounces each) or measure flours and place in large mixing bowl. Add soda, baking powder, salt, and sugar. In another bowl beat together eggs and melted butter, then add the buttermilk (always do it in this order). Add the wet ingredients to the dry and stir until combined. Allow to rest 5 minutes while waffle iron preheats.

Spray heated waffle iron with cooking spray, then ladle appropriate amount of batter. Close iron top and cook until waffle is golden brown.

Interesting on the club soda ... I will keep that in mind!

I have everything but the buttermilk for the other recipe, I wonder if I can do the lemon juice/milk thing for that? I guess it can't hurt to try it this morning :0)

I found this recipe online and it has become our family favorite. What I like best about it is that it doesn't require eggs and a few other things that sometimes I run out of. Lol

3 cups flour
2 Tbs baking powder
1-2 Tbs sugar (optional)
1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups milk(I have used water too)
1/3 cup orange juice
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
