How do I find out if and when my child need to take the SAT or ACT or both? Do I need to be concerned with the SAT as early as Freshman year? All I remember is that we took the ACT our Junior year and senior year if we wanted to re-take it.

My dd took the SAT early in her senior year. She didn't take the ACT - her university was willing to convert her SAT score to an ACT one and use that.

If your child knows where he or she wants to go to college, you can check their admissions requirements to see what test they prefer.

Ds (11th grade) will take the SAT this spring and retake it next year if needed.

Blessings,
Elise

Thanks, Elsie. I guess I can "relax" a little for now. Smile

Around here you can take the SAT or ACT if you *want* to as a second-semester sophomore, but they advise to wait til your junior year to take either or both. Then you can re-take them as a senior if you want.

How Can I Pray? ... Christian parents, who have given their children so much, are amazed to see many of their children literally chuck all their labors of love and devotion. The temptations our children face are horrendous . . .
