However, confessing it is the key to opening the door to a new beginning. Nobody coerces me to eat chocolate; no one compels the angry words that spew from my lips; and nobody commands me to be impetuous, imprudent and self-centered. What but sin explains our continual failure to do that which we purpose to do? [Support our Advertisers!]

My father-in-law called Monday. Dh was at work (he has been able to go back for a couple of hours a week). His limited English and my limited Spanish made for a short phone call...but it was so good to hear his voice!

He called back yesterday and had a long talk with dh. His house was undamaged during Maria. He just recently had running water restored. He still does not have electricity, and he has to drive to the next town to get cell service. Fortunately, he is fairly young (71--he is dh's stepfather and is much younger than dh's mom) and fairly healthy.

Please continue to pray for the people of Puerto Rico, and if you have a chance to donate or otherwise help, please do. There is a lot of suffering on the island right now. Thank you for all your prayers!
