I have a 5.5 pound pork shoulder. Dh's friends (a bunch of them) from his bicycle group are visiting this weekend, and I said I would make a crockpot of pulled pork. All I need is a recipe. (I don't have an instant pot...just a big old fashioned crockpot).

Anybody want to help me out with a tried and true recipe?

I prefer one that doesn't use bottled BBQ sauce if I can find one.

We just put the roast in and dump a (32oz) jar of pepperoncini peppers over the top and cook as usual. Sometimes I'll add in a packet of lipton onion soup mix or beef broth, but usually not. You'll have to salt and pepper after it's shredded. If the whole pepperoncinis are too spicy, then you could use the rings instead. Those are de-seeded.

I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us. ~Phil 3:13-14~

We put the meat in the crockpot, dump one bottle of your favorite barbecue sauce...if we do not have dh's homemade sauce, a bottle of original bullseye is our go to...and then cook to your liking. Easy peasy.

Divorce and the Call to Ministry ... I was asked by group leader in my Bible study if I'd consider a leadership position. I prayed and felt it was a good thing, my dh and kids supported me and I let them know I could do it. I was then interviewed for the position. It started out great. I shared my testimony of coming to know Christ as Lord and was just so enthusiastic. Then, the bomb came...I had been divorced years ago. This eliminated me from leading a group of women...With this plea for wisdom a great discussion was born! The divorced and ministry, are the two compatable?
