Most all of the Old Testament prophets direct their messages to God's people Israel who were transgressing the Law: not upholding their part of the covenant. This "minor" prophet has a major message, however: What do we do in the face of injustice, violence, and how do we cope with the fall out of God's justice? [Support our Advertisers!]

A friend of mine has not talked to her son in over four years. I haven't heard from him in several months. Last I knew he was going to go to the police academy. Today I found out he is at a discipleship camp in Colorado run by a guy and his wife. I guess the guy has written several books on being a full disciple of Christ. It's called Ellerslie have any of you heard of this? I can't find much information on it. Should we be worried?

Our dear friends' kids both went there and loved it. I do not know much about it, but it sounded a bit like L'Abri...the brother is in ministry...the daughter loves the Lord and is active in her local church.

That is good to know. He said he was planning on going into the ministry. I hope he reconciles with his parents at some point as I think his ministry would suffer if he doesn't.

He did not contact them at all. He posted something on Facebook so that's how I found out where he was. He unfriended his parents three years ago. They haven't talked to each other for almost 4 years.

His family was in a co-op with mine years ago. My boys were friends with him.

"Getting Rid of Gunk" ... "No one makes a Christian do devotions. I can decide freely how much effort I spend maintaining my soul. Am I as concerned about maintaining an attractive, pure witness as I am a clean pool? Sometimes not. Resting on yesterday's devotions or last Sunday's sermon can foul my soul as surely as my neglect spoils my pool."
