I know egg whites are a wonderful source of protein. I really *want* to like them, but I really don't. Something about the texture... the only way I can eat them is to scramble the eggs, and even then I decrease the amount of whites by about half.

I'm wondering if there's a way to get around the taste/texture, something I could add or maybe another way of cooking them that I could stomach? (And I don't mean adding them to flour, sugar, and cocoa.Very Happy )

Thanks for any ideas!

Have you tried making an egg-white omelet? To that, you can add shredded cheese for creaminess, onion for more flavor or even chopped roasted or steamed veggies (broccoli would be classic) for a bit of texture.

Don't know what it is about egg whites as scrambled, but they just make me want to hurl. Starbucks makes this yummy (well....despite it making me feel awful) sandwhich with scrambled egg whites, spinache, and feta.

Do you like cheese?

You could douse it with a good amount of whatever cheese you like, or veggies that you like.

Really, I would add to it anything that I really likeā€¦just throw it in there, with plenty of your favorite seasoning. Very Happy

Is there any reason you feel compelled to eat the whites without the yolks? The yolks are loaded with vitamins A, B12, and D, as well as folate and calcium. And they do make the whites taste a lot better! Very Happy

I'm not at all sure that adding a bunch of cheese to your egg white is any better nutritionally than just using the whole egg.

Egg whites by themselves make a good meringue--just add a little sugar...there are nice low calorie cookies that use meringue...
