Kaitlyn (the one that works in the library) started reading the first book (I give her more leeway than the others because she is very discerning) and she said it was inappropriate and she put it down. After that review, the others had no interest in reading it.

Thankfully my dd has no interest in those books or movies. If she did i would have forbidden her to read or watch them. Now that she is 18 she is allowed to make that choice, but I would strongly discourage it!

Jumping in late here, but these books/movies are absolutely prohibited in this house, due to their occultic and dark themes.

That's my very strong opinion on the matter. Wink

I am glad to see so many people here not reading this series. I cannot figure out why so many christians are allowing their children to read these books and watch the movies. It makes no sense, as christians we are supposed to be living for Him, and moving toward goodness, and holiness, not darkness and evil. Ask yourself, "would this be pleasing to God?" then you will know whether or not you or your children should read them.

"Issues in Prayer" ... I have been thinking about some things -- particularly about the seriousness of my prayer life so I pass along some stuff and I hope as the Lord is teaching ME to let go, you will be encouraged by these thoughts. A major issue for women is fretting being fearful being "concerned." We are very, very good at that, aren't we? Do you know some promises from Scripture to inform your prayers and "reform" your fretting?
