I admit that I used to spend too much time, not necessarily at church, but doing church stuff. When I started working, I cut back a lot, much to DH's joy.

This has been a point of contention between us. I grew up as a deacon's kid and was ALWAYS at church. If the doors were open, we were there. It was a small church, so everyone had to be involved in pretty much every ministry we had.

DH didn't grow up going to church. His family are real homebodies (his parents never leave the house except to go to work). And he takes after them, so just getting him to leave the house is like pulling teeth. He goes to church on Sunday morning, but very rarely on Sunday evening or Wednesday. The kids and I go to those services alone.

If it were up to DH, the kids and I would stay home with him, at least on Sunday evenings. If it were up to me, we'd all go to every service (I learn so much!) and be involved in more ministries. But, the way we do things is a pretty good compromise.

"Turning to God FIRST!" ... I felt so alone. I finally turned to God. While on my knees I dumped out my anger at Him. Why had He let this happen to me? Why didn't anyone know I was hurting so badly and call me this time?
