Tomorrow there is a bin sale in our town. They have compost bins and rain barrels for an awesome price. We have a compost bin, but it is poorly constructed and we desperately need to replace it. Dh was originally thinking of getting me two bins. However, I am contemplating a rain barrel and a compost bin.

Two bins...I could have some going and some to use. But I wonder if this is really necessary. We don't bag our grass. We usually let most of the leaves stay where they are.

Rain barrel...I could save rain.
However, the eaves that would collect the most water is on the complete opposite end of the house from my garden. Not very handy. The roof closest to the garden is the roof over the garage which is much smaller.

What would you get?

Depends on the sale price, but maybe one of each and then make a cheap second composter from a large flexible rubber can at Lowe's or Home Depot with a lid and drill holes in it (all over) and bungie cord the lid on. Roll around with ease to mix compost.
