Tracy's Vase[ 33 vote(s) ]
1.The vase is AWFUL! 17 / 52%
2.The vase isn't my taste, but it's okay. 7 / 21%
3.I like the vase. 5 / 15%
4.I love the vase. 1 / 3%
5.Other 3 / 9%

Tracy, I'm going to come clean...I kinda like your vase. I think it has a lot of meaning. I love the little ones hanging on the mama and daddy.

I can see how some people may think it's ugly, but there's just something I like about it.

I thought I'd make a poll and see if there's anyone else who likes it.

For me, this falls into the "So ugly I almost like it" category. I don't think I'd be able to display it somewhere, but it does have a horrible kitschy appeal. Laughing

I have a storyteller and I proudly display her. She has seven children, same as me. We bought it years ago...like around our third child. The fact that we have seven just makes it more special.

Dawn, are you talking about the kiddos or the boobs hangning from the mother's collarbone?

You are so funny, Tracie! I'm definitely referring to the children! The b**bs are really the only thing I dislike about it. Aside from "those", I find the vase endearing.

Tracy,

I think that was the first time I "heard" anyone say boobs on CHF. LOL.... We've all thought it, looking at that vase, but I don't think it's ever been said before. LOL

I had to look those up to see what they looked like. I think they are ugly, personally, but I really like the vase. Very Happy

There are lots of different types of storyteller's. Typically, it is a seated woman that is very round, with any number of children crawling over her. The children are smaller scale, so you can have a lot of them on the woman. I've seen larger ones with over 20 chidlren on them.

The ones I googled weren't the same as I what I see around New Mexico. I guess it is different for different tribes.

I put #2. Although I don't like it (artistically) I can appreciate that it is a strong statement and for a collector it would be great.

I voted "other".

That was a vase?

What kind of flowers would you put in it?

It came with white daisies and carnations, but I have never put flowers in it.

I actually think it would look way worse with flowers in it. If you look at it as sculpture, it could work for some.

No kidding. It would scare the poor flowers.

I was thinking it needs a very large lampshade.
