Yesterday at homecoming at our old family church, there was this YUMMY dessert but I didn't get the recipe. It was in a 9 x 13 pan, had a layer of graham crackers, then a custard/pudding like mixture (vanilla flavored), those 2 layers repeated and then a chocolate topping that was slightly hardened. I could tell it had been refrigerated.

It sort of reminded me of a Boston Cream Pie. I haven't searched any of my cookbooks yet, and could kick myself for not hanging out by the dessert table to find who claimed the dish, lol?

Anyone heard of this?

I've made that before, and it is exactly like you describe, graham crackers, vanilla pudding in layers and then either chocolate frosting on top or that Magic shell stuff.

The graham crackers soften from the pudding.

sounds like my icebox cake! yummy!

I layer graham crackers, vanilla pudding, crackers, chocolate pudding and then cool whip. Sometimes I melt some chocolate and pb and drizzle like a crust over the top.

Sounds like Eclair Cake! If you have the CHF cookbook - I put it in there (p. 131-132)

If you don't have the CHF cookbook - you'll have to get one!!
